Hello to all!
I got this page about 8 months ago when I was considering getting gastric bypass surgery.
Now, here I am 4.5 months post op, 85 pounds down, and loving life! I have gone from size 28-30 to 18 or 20 currently. My goal is to be 145 pounds, and I’m over halfway to my goal in less than 5 months.
I created this blog to hold myself accountable for my actions, to air my thoughts and frustrations, and hopefully get to know others going through the same thing!
Cheers!
Laurie

Laurie…You probably don’t know this but you are a huge inspiration to me. You are actually the first person I have known to have the RNY surgery. Before seeing you at Christmas I had only read other peoples blogs and seen pictures of people I didn’t actually know first hand who had had the surgery. Until you the results didn’t seem real. In many ways you were the turning point for me. I had thought about the surgery for years and had lacked the courage and the drive to take the plunge. Seeing you and the new thirst for life that just seemed to radiate from you gave me that fianl push that I needed to jump off the bridge into the unknown. So I have and although I made the decision for myself, I will always be grateful to you for being the beacon of light that I needed to find my way. I will be joining you on the other side soon and I have to say, I am looking forward to the journey. I read a quote very recently by Janis Joplin that sums it up for me, “…I was born a long way from home. I have spent my whole life just trying to get back.” I am on my way back and so are you. Godspeed to us all on the journey.
Love ya…Just Jil
